This is what 150 people look like when they're crowded on the sidewalk.

The numbers are growing, and protests have been called every Saturday until Christmas. Workers who complain to the Garment Workers Center make their reports after they've been fired. They are unable to protest on their own, because those who speak up, are fired and blacklisted. Usually unable to speak English, they find themselves captive in a labor market where insufficent enforcement of existing laws leads to widespread abuse.

Ultimately, this shadow labor force impacts the ability of all labor to negotiate good working conditions and good wages.
