A 30 minute review of news and opinions recorded from a shortwave radio. 2 files- 13.8MB broadcast/ 3.4MBstreaming/quickdownload. Free to rebroadcast upon notification. Times and freqs for listening at home. Spain, Germany, China, Netherlands, Cuba.

The latest Shortwave Report (October 26) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.8MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.4MB) (30:02) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven"t notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen, try the streaming version, lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file, it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (Real Player, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes) you have on your computer.

This week's show features stories from Spanish National Radio, Radio Deutsche Welle, China Radio International, Radio Netherlands, and Radio Havana Cuba.

From Spain- UN Human Rights Commissioner called on Mexican authorities to investigate the execution of a human rights lawyer; Israel launches a massacre in a West Bank village.

From Germany- more on the Israeli attack on Palestine; the Dalai Lama made his first visit to the European Parliament in 15 years to call for an end to the bombing in Afghanistan.

From China- US Congress approves a bill to issue war bonds; China denies it bought unexploded cruise missles from Afghanistan.

From Netherlands- a report on the growing anti-war movement in Europe.

From Cuba- Al-Jazeeda confirms civilian deaths in Afghanistan; the UN charges that the US is dropping cluster bombs; some US media feels threatened by US media for reporting events in the war; an editorial in the Guardian asserts that the US should use the same language in dealing with Israel that it uses with Afghanistan; the war in Columbia accelerates; an Australian newspaper reports that the analysis of last falls US presidential election is being held up and not released.

All this plus times and frequencies for listening to shortwave at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station.

I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated.
