The strip's two main characters are two African American boys, who are the first Black kids in a previoulsy all White suburb. It's a very funny comic strip, and, unlike the rest of the funny pages, they actually deal with serious social issues in an intellegent yet entertaining way.

Aaron McGruder's comic strip ['Boondocks'] began a storyline that expressed some quite mild skepticism about the "war on terrorism" and the FBI's recently stepped up domestic police state activities... According to a (NY)Daily News spokesman, they plan to keep the strip off their pages indefinitely. Apparently, this has angered many of the Daily News African American readers, who have been lighting up the switchboard at the paper to complain.
