Possible positive outcomes as a result of Sept. 11th

Hopefully horrible US immigration laws will be reformed.

Finally the "leaders" who decided in 1965 to overcrowd and displace the US population with uncontrolled immigration are talking about restricting immigration! News reports of Mexican illegal immigrants unable to cross and indignantly complaining about it demonstrate that the borders can be controlled; there was just, in the eyes of polititians and businesses, no need to do it before. (Overcrowding, housing shortages, declining wages obviously weren't enough)

The economic effects of S11 may be alleviated if there is less of a supply of cheap immigrant labor. The sleazeballs who exploited illegal immigrants may have to hire native workers and pay a decent wage. 10$ an hour dishwashing jobs? This may become a reality if immigration is tightened. The housing shortage may also be alleviated when landlords are unable to rent gouge because of overpopulation.

The war hysteria and Orwellian media saturation is of course to be derided but there may be some good to come of this situation after all.
