Jesse Jackson & Danny Glover back Amy Goodman!

by Free Pacifica Friday, Sep. 07, 2001 at 1:23 PM

The censors and hijackers at KPFK and PACIFICA are growing increasingly isolated.

JESSE JACKSON AND ACTOR DANNY GLOVER CALL ON PACIFICA MANAGEMENT TO STOP BLOCKING HISTORIC BROADCASTS OF DEMOCRACY NOW! FROM UN WORLD CONFERENCE AGAINST RACISM

Reverend Jesse Jackson and actor/civil rights activist Danny Glover have called on the management of the Pacifica Radio Network to stop blocking the historic broadcasts of its daily radio show Democracy Now! from the UN World Conference Against Racism.

"It's unconscionable that Pacifica would not broadcast Democracy Now! from these very important proceedings," said civil rights activist and actor Danny Glover, who is attending the conference. "The fact that Pacifica is not broadcasting Democracy Now! is appalling."

Democracy Now! is the only radio program in the U.S. devoting its daily hour-long broadcast to live radio coverage from the UN World Conference Against Racism. The show is broadcasting interviews with the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Danny Glover, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Rigoberta Menchu, women activists from India's Dalit, or untouchable, caste, South African trade union leaders, and NGO activists from around the world.

"It was not right for the U.S. to walk out, it was unnecessary for Israel to walk out," said Reverend Jesse Jackson, "and Pacifica as the access voice for racial and gender equality should not walk out, but should open up the airwaves and let people, let the Pacifica family hear these words."

Does KPFK still believe in the PACIFICA MISSION STATEMENT?

" To obtain access to news sources not commonly brought together in the same medium; and to employ varied sources to present accurate and comprehensive news on all matters that vitally affect our community."

Our Failing Dreams

To all scientist and engineers of the world who dream of what the future can look like .....

Is the future of NASA’s “ MAG LIFTER” program going to be swept under the rug?

I have noticed the historical appearance of the United States as a leader in human progress being somewhat stagnated over the last 30 years.

President Kennedy and President Nixon seemed to have been progressive leaders in human progress, to also include some military and space development spin-offs.

I believe that some people in the oil industries are responsible for the stagnation of human progress from a historical perspective.

Look at the world around you ... our daily human lives, where is the progress in space development and human colonization gone?

Most Importantly . . .

Where are all the dreams that the pioneers in the space program contemplated and so elegantly illustrated by way of professional artist concepts that we as children learned to know?

For example NASA’s “MAG LIFTER” concept?

From a historical perspective, I read all about how grandfather George Bush in the article “NASI’s in the Attic” was involved in oil production in the Middle East and how they supplied the Japanese and the Nazis before we got into this World War II conflict.

There are many similar articles of normalizing corruption on the Inter-net but this is no excuses for corrupting and hindering American progress as leaders in technologies of the future.

Historically, some of us have been corrupted by some who only know the oil and covert drug programs. Such learned evil with their hidden agendas have been behind the demise that we face today. Those of us who are beyond such learnedness of such corruption need to stand together in what being human is all about. Otherwise our dreams of progress into the twenty-first century will truly suffer as such competitive freedoms continue to be suppressed.

Maybe our future scientist need to dream-up, develop, and engineer into our daily realities new consumer products that does not makes us so depend on oil and most importantly does not further hinder our progress as a human race as we go into the twenty-first century.
