Our feature story will be:

Pacifica - Whose Violence, Their Violence

On March 26th Pacifica Executive Director Bessie Wash interrupted a national airing of "Democracy Now" to claim that Pacifica employees in Houston and NYC were attacked by Pacifica Campaign supporters. One of the allegations

accuses Ken Nash, co-host of "Building Bridges in Exile", of elbowing Utrice Leid,Interim Manager of WBAI. The other involved a KPFT activist, Edwin Johnston, who supposedly attacked Molly O'Brien,KPFT Manager Garland Ganter's wife.

Throughout this period, dissident Staff and Listeners at WBAI are the ones who have been subject to harassment and threats of violence by Station personel with full knowledge of WBAI Management. Recently, of course, Amy Goodman and the Staff of "Democracy Now" have been the target of

increasing harassment directed by Utrice Leid which culminated in Ms. Leid's shoving Amy Goodman. In response "Democracy Now" moved to safe outside studio and continues to produce and distribute daily. Pacifica

is refusing to distribute these current "Democracy Now" productions and is sending out reruns instead.

This past week the Houston DA dropped assault charges in the Houston case against Edwin Johnston and O'Brien resigned from KPFT. Utrice Leid has refused to respond to

Ken Nash's union grievance disputing her allegations which led to the cancellation of "Building Bridges" from WBAI.

Join "Building Bridges In Exile" as we discuss Pacifica's wild accusations, and the reality of harassment and violence at WBAI and Pacifica

the continuing struggle of "Democracy Now" to fight the unsafe working

conditions fostered by WBAI and Pacifica Management

and our victory in Houston

featuring:

AMY GOODMAN - "Democracy Now"

EDWIN JOHNSTON - Houston Committee for People's Radio
