Puritanism: Root of American Fascism?

Long before Italy's Benito Mussolini, a fanatical religious sect in the North American English colonies that would become the United States, took it upon themselves to begin enforcing their way of thinking/behavior on the rest of the population-the Puritans. One of the most infamous tragedies that occured during their (un)holy jihad was the well known Salem Witch-hunts of the Seventeenth Century. Now in the beginning of the Twentyfirst Century, this group is considered to be a major source of many of the ideologies of the of the Christian Right, the Ku Klux Klan and other white, male, "Christian", heterosexual supremacist hate groups, politicians such as the current Imperial Ruling Bush Family and the "Supreme" Court's Felonious Five that installed King George W., and such "accepted" norms and policies as the current jihads against marijuana and other recreational drugs, abortion, sexual freedoms and freedom of speech, among many other things as well as unconditional/unquestioning support of the Police State. Also remember that our rights are also protected and guarenteed under International humanitarian law as well as the U.S. Constitution(which, again because of Puritan influences, remains quite ambiguous and confusing about many of our rights).
