An emergency demonstration was held on August 15th to protest PACIFICA Radio's canceling live broadcasts of the "Democracy Now!" show by Programmer, Amy Goodman. Around 50 supporters of the movement to democratize PACIFICA and reclaim it's heritage as an activist station gathered in front of L.A.'s KPFK early in the morning. The pro-Democracy demonstrator pictured holds up a sign calling on the station to overturn the ban on programmers talking about station politics on the air. KPFK has banned some 150 Programmers and Volunteers from it's facilities and "Whitened" the station's content by practically eliminating it's "minority" programmers. As KPFK and PACIFICA drift further to the right... only a mass concerted effort by the people can reclaim the People's Radio Station. More information on the movement to save PACIFICA can be found at the following URL; http://www.pacificacampaign.org
