This Photograph was taken by a U.S. Army Photographer three months after Nagasaki had been destroyed on August 9th, 1945. Part of a documentation team, the Photographer (name unknown) shot this Photograph some distance from the hypocenter of the Bomb blast. Someone had been sitting on the granite steps of the Sumitomo Bank when the Bomb went off overhead. The person's shadow was left behind... seared into the stone steps. These stones are today preserved at the Hiroshima A-Bomb Memorial Museum in Hiroshima.
