Our feature stories will be:

SPECIAL GUEST: BOB LEDERER, RECENTLY FIRED HOST OF

WBAI’S HEALTH ACTION

on the Pacifica front.

ARGENTINA'S ECONOMIC CRISIS:

FISCAL AUSTERITY, GENERAL STRIKES & THE IMF

Into its third year of economic crisis, the Argentine government of Pres. De La Rua is deciding to balance its giant budget deficit on the backs of the poor, government workers and retirees. With the unions pressuring on one side with frequent general strikes and the IMF on the other doling out bailout loans based on "fiscal responsibility", Argentina's crisis is being watched for its repercusssions on neighboring countries and the world economy.

We talk with Daniel Ximenez,

Director of the School of Labor Studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

THE POOR GETTING POORER

Is homelessness on the rise? We look at the

effects of the current recession, building on the

"heritage" of the Welfare Reform and Reconstruction

Act of 1966. And in Giuliani's New York City the

Shelter system is already overflowing.

Out guest will be Tim Casey

Attorney for the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund
