Activists have called for a national day of action Wed., Aug. 8 to regain control of the Pacifica radio network from the corporate-oriented clique that has a narrow 6-to-5 majority on the Pacifica governing board.
In the L.A. area, a demonstration will take place 3-5 p.m. at the Building Industry Association of S. California (BIASC), 24005 Ventura Blvd., Calabasas. BIASC is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB); Ken Ford of the NAHB is the current acting chair of the Pacifica governing board.
Activists are also urged to send protest letters via Progressive Portal at:

Since mid-May, more than 1 million letters have been sent by users of Progressive Portal calling for return of Pacifica to the progressive leadership that has been shunted aside in an anti-democratic, business-oriented takeover.
