In Bremen/Germany 15 people occupied the Italian consulate for 2 hours. They demanded that ALL the prisoners which are still arrested in Genova have to be free immediately. The occupiers demanded that the following statement was faxed to the Italian authorities and the press from the consulate including an official stamp and the sign of one employee. That happened straight after the beginning of the occupation.

Today the 3rd of August 2001 we occupied the Italian consulate!
Up to 200000 people protested against the G8 meeting from the 19th - 21th of July in Genova. Seattle, Prague, Gothenburg have proved that more and more people, including militants, are protesting against the capitalistic globalization. The government is reacting with intensified terror against the constantly growing resistance. This kind of terror starts with departure prohibitions and arbitrary arrests with following abusing and torturing and ends with using firearms against people with a deadly ending.
Another way of state terror is repression and criminalization of the resistance. At the moment 49 people from different countries have been arrested and are in custody. One of the accusations is "the formation of a criminal organisation".
For example, an Austrian theatre group and another group of 10 people, who were arrested on the monday after all the protests outside of Genova, were charged with that. The "justification" for these arrests are some black clothes found by the police. These black clothes should prove that the arrested people are members of an organisation called "black bloc", which is a fiction of the media.
This ridiculous case and the police violence during the whole G8 meeting are just ways to intimidate the resistance. Those ways don`t work. The proof of that are worldwide protests in over 180 cities. For example, in Italy over 250000 people demonstrated against police terror and repression.
We are joining these protests and demand:
Free all prisoners of Genova immediately!
End all court proceedings against those prisoners!
Delete all taken data, fingerprints and so on!
G8 kills-not only in Genova!
Solidarity with all people of the world who fight against exploitation and oppression!
