In an interview in the Guardian, also reported by the BBC, Admiral Sir Michael Boyce, chief of the British defense
staff, said that he's seen no evidence that the new incarnation of Star Wars will work. These comments were made before recent revelations that the most recent "successful" Star Wars test was rigged with a homing device in the target.
Boyce also warned that participating in the Star Wars program, supposedly designed to protect the US from other
"rogue states", would drain the defense budget. His comments will surely be seen as undercutting the support that British Prime Minister Tony Blair has given.
"No-one has actually come up firmly on the American side because they are still exploring it," Boyce told the Guardian. "I have seen nothing yet to give me a technical description of what has been proposed."
