¡NO MAS! NO MORE! STOP THE DIRTY WAR! In Colombia, paramilitary butchers, operating in collusion with the US/Canada government-and corporate-backed Colombian Army and National Police, selectively murder and massacre unarmed civilians with impunity. See URL's below for more info.

FIRST THEY CAME FOR THE CAMPESINOS

First they came for the campesinos

and I did not speak out ––

because I was not a peasant farmer.

Then they came for the Afro-Colombian

and Indigenous leaders

and I did not speak out ––

because I was not an Afro-Colombian

or Indigenous leader.

Then they came for the human rights defenders

and I did not speak out ––

because I was not a human rights defender.

Then they came for the journalists,

the non-government organization leaders,

the Marxist and social democrat intellectuals,

the opposing politicians,

the student activists,

the anarchists,

the professors on the left,

the union leaders,

the union members,

the public school teachers,

the judicial officials,

and I did not speak out ––

because I was not a journalist, a non-government

organization leader, a Marxist or social democrat

intellectual, an opposing politician, a student

activist, a anarchist, a professor on the left, a union

leader, a union member, a public school teacher or a

judicial official.

Then the paramilitary butchers,

operating in collusion with the US/Canada

government-and corporate-backed

Colombian Army and National Police, came for me.

And I remembered my silence,

as I realized in horror,

THERE WAS NO ONE LEFT TO SPEAK OUT !
