Why Avane Garde Street Theater and Art
Most activist art done at rallies etc. seems to be avante garde. I think I understand and agree with the positive aspects of this, but I wonder if they are not outweighed by the cons: Although I love avante garde art, I believe that most people do not, and moreover, that cops are chosen and trained to be suspicious of anything out of the ordinary. Thus I cannot help but wondering if rallies wouldn’t reach more people, and be treated less harshly by cops, if the art and theater were more somewhat more traditional.
