As Timothy McVeigh received the lethal injection, a small bird landed on the folded arms of one of the protesters gathered outside the Terra Haute prison.

As I watched the national media frenzy about the execution, an extraordinary thing happened that even CNN couldn't ignore. A group of protestors stood outside the prison in a silent vigil against the death penalty. A tiny bird (looked like a young sparrow) landed on the folded arms of one of the protestors and stayed there for at least ten minutes. CNN did a short close up of the bird, but then rapidly switched to the Oklahoma memorial and more calls for retribution.

STOP THE BARBARIC DEATH PENALTY!!
