Break The Chains Of Injustice - A Romper Las Cadenas De La Injusticia
June 16, 2001
(Bulletin No. 2)
The struggle against the vicious-racist capitalist based Prison Industrial Complex and for the human rights of Raza prisoners, continues. This June 16, 2001, the “6th Annual Conference On Raza Prisoners and Colonialism (CRPC)" held at Oxnard College, Oxnard, Califaztlan will continue the struggle to expose the crimes against our gente in Occupied Mexico/Aztlan. This year's conference will be organized by the Committee On Raza Rights, Chicano Mexicano Prison Project, and Union del Barrio.
The past conferences have been central in exposing the role that prisons play, in not only locking up Raza (Mexicanos, Centro Americanos, and other indigenous people) and other oppressed nationalities, but in keeping our whole community, through the threat of imprisonment, in a state of subjugation and colonial oppression. The conferences have become centers of information, networking, and resistance, for those progressive and revolutionary forces committed to ending all forms of oppression within our communities.
The objectives of this conference; (1) Continue our efforts to build the Raza Prison Network, (2) Educate ourselves and the community on the question of prisons and the colonialism in which our nation exist and (3) Produce a manual/document which includes articles, organizing tips, and addresses/contacts within the Prison Rights movement; the title of the manual will be "Break The Chains Of Injustice!"
The workshops will be the following; (1) Political, Social And Economic Questions Of Colonialism And Prison Industrial System and (2) Organizing For Justice And Freedom Now!!
This conference is endorsed by: Raza Rights Coalition, Alvaro Hernandez Defense Committee, Brown Berets de Aztlan, Barrio Defense Committee, Jose Luis Avina Defense Committee, African People's Socialist Party, Voz Fronteriza, National Chicano Moratorium Committee, Lost Identity and Comite Ricardo Flores Magon - Mexico.
