Nancy Pearlman won her Community College Board election, which makes her the Green with the largest constituency in the nation. Quietly but steadily, the Green Party keeps growing.
Nancy Pearlman, environmentalist educator and Green Party registrant, was elected to Los Angeles Community Colleges Board of Trustees in the June 5th election. In her 4th try for trusteeship, she was outspent at least 12 to 1, and opposed by the LA Times. But she won with a margin of 325,000 to 195,000 votes, 62% to 37%. She wants to organize a progressive slate for the 2003 election.
