Up to three thousand or more people took part in a May Day protest that marched through L.A.'s Korea Town district to Macarthur Park, an area populated by poor Mexicano and Central American Immigrants. This Immigrant Woman carried an enlarged "Resident Alien" card the type of which the U.S.

Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) issues to foreign Workers. Marchers in L.A.'s Mayday demonstration were demanding that Immigrants receive legalized status, allowing them and their families a better life.
