Up to three thousand or more people took part in a May Day protest that marched through L.A.'s Korea Town district to Macarthur Park, an area populated by poor Mexicano and Central American Immigrants. The number of young people taking part in the May Day march was staggering. These two young Women were indicative of those who participated in the multi-cultural protest. The two hold a hand painted banner that portrays Working Women... one painted figure is shown working in a sweat shop at a sowing machine, another is an Agricultural Worker harvesting Skulls (referring to the pesticides Agricultural Workers are exposed to), a third Women is painted standing up and giving a clenched fist salute.
