The Disneyland Democrats had their state convention in Anaheim, California this April Fools' weekend and still insist on following their PG&E whore, Gov Gray Davis, like the blind fools they are, as he leads their party to sure oblivion into the gubernatorial campaign of 2002.

In the face of a 40% rate increase of gas and electricity bills to the consumer by the Public Utilities Commission, filled with Davis' Democratic appointees, the strong possibility of more increases to as much as 100% higher, and a predicted .4 billion debt if California keeps bailing out the utilities instead of taking over the entire utility business by eminent domain and setting up a state public power agency, that good Democrat Gray Davis insists on serving the rich by suppressing popular initiatives to end the bailout. The Foundation for Taxpayer & Consumer Rights, in their March 30, 2001 press release by Doug Heller, announced that the California Business Roundtable, consisting of every major business in California including the utility companies, is paying for an ad by Democrat Davis against a proposed but yet unwritten public power initiative. The full press release and list of many of the Business Roundtable companies is at:

We are watching the Democratic Party willfully self-destruct as they serve their capitalist paymasters and forget all about their insulting rhetoric of being a workingclass party as they know very well they cannot serve both capital and labor. It is now a mathematical impossibility for Gray Davis to win the 2002 governor's race legally. The labor union polls show his support down to 29% and other more general polls, at around 45%. Gray Davis reminds one of an anti-Vietnam War song, with the words "We are waist deep in the Big Muddy, and the Big Fool says to push on!"

It is a basic rule of thumb that any economic crisis is bad for incumbents and the current economic crisis will definitely get much worse. A utility crisis is just icing on the cake for his opponents. Those opponents will certainly be progressive candidates, such as a Peace & Freedom Party candidate, as well as a Republican candidate. Many Democrats will stay home rather than vote for this reactionary governor who has no viable solution to either the economic or the utility crisis. The Republicans always vote their party ticket. Thus, this is a golden opportunity for all progressive parties to take the lead.

Only a socialist party can lead as it is based in the only class capable of leadership, the workingclass, those of us who sell our labor for less than ,000 a year, for labor creates all wealth. Socialist parties are always for public power and eliminating the profit motive, the cause of all this society's basic problems.

A socialist party is by definition, Duke Ellington's "A-Train" bound for freedom, Woody Guthrie's "train that is bound for glory." It is does not take any big time gamblers or two-timing jokers like Gray Davis, Willie Brown, John Burton, and all the other Democratic Party whores of PG&E, which all the elected Democrats are, just like the Republicans.

To get on that freedom train, join a socialist, public power party, Peace & Freedom Party now. Just check "Other" on your voter registration form and write in Peace & Freedom Party. For more information, we http://www.peaceandfreedom.org.
