The latest episode is the strong possibility of an appeal to the State Board of Education of the San Francisco School Board's decision not to renew its contract with Edison Project, the privatization of public schools racket in which the Republican, Donald Fisher, better known as founder of The Gap, has stock.

As the San Francisco Bay Guardian of 3/28/01 points out, Republican Donald Fisher was appointed by Democrat Gov. Gray Davis to the State Board of Education just two weeks ago, with this decision by the SF school board very much on the agenda. The plot thickens. Fisher's privatization of a public school was assisted by the strong-arm tactics of that good, lifelong Democrat, currently sitting in office as "mayor" of San Francisco with 40% of the vote plus election fraud, Willie Brown. When Willie Brown commenced running for his lame-duck term in 1999, Gray Davis came to town to announce that Brown should not have an election but should be returned to office by acclamation! Clearly Davis and Brown are two birds of a feather. As to Brown's "re-election" via election fraud, it was done in the same manner as Brown's "passage" of the 49er Stadium Swindle on June 3, 1997 on behalf of Brown's old Republican pal, Eddie DeBartolo. Democrat Gray Davis' history of being supportive of Republicans has some notable highlights. The most recent was his support of Republican former Gov. Wilson's Prop 21, the racist juvenile anti-crime initiative which allows children to be tried as adults, among many reactionary provisions.
My favorite is the news of Democrat Davis proudly opening the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley California in October 1999. The Hearst San Francisco Examiner of October 5, 1999 carried the AP story with a huge picture of Gray Davis looking approvingly at Nancy Reagan with a huge blow-up of a replica of a Ronald Reagan license plate in the background, made possible by a law signed by Gov. Davis. This license plate has a picture of Reagan wearing a cowboy hat next to Reagan's nickname, "Gipper." Apparently, Nancy Reagan and Gray Davis are of such low intellectual stature that they think this is how a president is honored and that this trash belongs in a library.
In case anyone forgot the legacy of Ronald Reagan, some highlights of this fascist's career are: (1) He honored the Nazis buried at Bitburg in 1985 in his official capacity of President of the United States, a country that officially opposed the Nazis, while the world commemorated the 40th anniversary of the celebration of the defeat of the Nazis. The anti-fascist and Jewish communities of San Francisco had an emergency protest rally at Union Square against this travesty, and there was a sold-out event honoring the anti-fascist fighters of World War 2. (2) The Iran-Contra scandal characterized his entire 8 years in office and is so well-known that one can easily find plenty of information on it if need be. (3) His anti-Communist political career officially began as an anti-Communist witchhunter in the 1950s, which was primarily an anti-labor crusade. (4) He promoted the anti-communist frame-up of Angela Davis while governor of California. (5) He continued with his anti-labor activities with the firing of the air traffic controllers, members of PATCO, in 1981, when they went on strike.
