Ballona Networking Event February 18, 2001

Citizens United to Save ALL of Ballona includes more than 100

organizations who agree with the goal to protect, restore and acquire

for the public the entire 1,087 acre Ballona Wetlands ecosystem and

surrounding open space. Included are Sierra Club, CALPIRG, Ballona

Valley Preservation League, Ballona Wetlands Land Trust, Wetlands Action

Network, Americans for Democratic Action, Center for Biological

Diversity, Surfrider Foundation, Santa Monica Baykeeper, Alliance for

Survival and many others.

In addition, there are several other fine organizations who are working

very hard to further the same goal.

Given the home stretch many of us see for the coming time ahead at

Ballona, it seems to be a good time to convene a networking meeting of

ALL of the groups working to save ALL of the Ballona Wetlands.

So - please include on your calendar the following time:

Sunday, February 18 - 10 am - 3 pm

Mrs. Garcia's Marina del Rey - 13365 Washington Blvd., 2 blocks east of

Lincoln Blvd.

at 12:00 noon we will break for lunch for an hour of food and

socializing; please bring money to order from the menu

on either side of the lunch hour we will have brief presentations and

updates of various issues related to our Ballona campaign, so everyone

can be brought up to date on the facts, the strategies and the

opportunities for involvement.
