"on the wrong side of a world revolution"

by Rokcircle Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001 at 8:14 AM

On April 4, 1967, a year to the day before he was shot, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his "Beyond Vietnam" speech at Riverside Church in New York City. Here is an excerpt. Follow the link to read the whole speech.

In 1957 a sensitive American official overseas said that it seemed to him that our nation was on the wrong side of a world revolution. During the past ten years we have seen emerge a pattern of suppression which now has justified the presence of U.S. military "advisors" in Venezuela. This need to maintain social stability for our investments accounts for the counter-revolutionary action of American forces in Guatemala. It tells why American helicopters are being used against guerrillas in Colombia and why American napalm and green beret forces have already been active against rebels in Peru. It is with such activity in mind that the words of the late John F. Kennedy come back to haunt us. Five years ago he said, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

-- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

And history has shown how right he was! America's influence in the world is much smaller than ever; capitalism is less widespread than ever; American power and culture, etc., is smaller than ever. Everybody looks to the rest of the world for leadership, money, protection, troops, etc. Nobody wants to be like America, nobody wants to emigrate to America.

the french burn mcdonalds,for me

thats THEIR porogative!nobody wants to live

at three mile island......or in an imperialist

demographic for humans to act like dogs

or slaves.....i dont think exporting our(?) "culture"

should dirty the rest of the world or

their gene pools......mercinaries(slaves that kill)

and wage slaves(work so that they can build more

prisons to put you in when they dont like

your politics) constitute the middle classes and always

have, but liesure is for those extremely conformist

(wont say shit when they kill/rape you) or just

plain fascist.....so lets live just live and

fuck the egoist that thinks the french should

bow down before americana or any one else.......

GO VEGAN!!!!

Americanize the Earth?

by Rokcircle Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001 at 11:46 PM

Then at least four additional planets will be needed if each of Earth's 6 billion inhabitants consumed at the

level of the average American. My hunch is that Wazzup?

is about 40lbs overweight.

I'd say about 20 lbs over, but I'm working (half-assedly) on it, thank you. I love to eat, including meat, cheese, sweets. Parents lived into their 90's. Have a nice day!
