On December 7, 1992 Gore’s office issued a pressrelease headlined: “CLINTON-GORE ADMINISTRATION WOULD NOT ISSUE TESTBURN PERMIT” for the WTI incinerator in East Liverpool, Ohio. Gore now claims that his “legal ability to stop the permit was removed” because the Bush Administration issued the permit during the transition period. Now it turns out that Gore played a role in having the permit issued.
