Judge Cissna ruled today against issuing a Preliminary Injunction to halt logging on THP 475 - (the 53-acre timber harvest plan on Rainbow Ridge to clearcut ancient forests on steep slopes above Allwardt Creek).

Dear Rainbow Ridge friends:

Judge Cissna ruled today against issuing a Preliminary Injunction to halt

logging on THP 475 - (the 53-acre timber harvest plan on Rainbow Ridge to

clearcut ancient forests on steep slopes above Allwardt Creek). This was

the plan we challenged in court in late September. Cissna ruled today that

logging could begin after 5PM on Friday, October 27. That means logging

could begin this weekend. Call the hotline for details and to come help

defend the forest - 707-441-3828.

EPIC, Lost Coast League and the Humboldt Watershed Council plan to appeal

the 475 decision with the District Court in San Francisco. We'll keep you

posted.

This has no bearing on the Temporary Restraining Order hearing on THP

031(Long Ridge) to be held Thursday at 1:00 PM in Court Room 9 in Eureka.

Please come to court to show your support.

Thanks,

Your friends in the Mattole.
