San Julian Street, L.A.'s true 'skid row', is 12 blocks away from Staples Center, site of the 2000 DNC. This image was taken on August 15, day two of the DNC. The children on San Julian that spend 16 hours a day on the street hoping for a bed and shower at the Union Mission.
