Twelve Ways to Democratize the U.S. Political System: Introduction

Elected officials have grown so dependent on big money for their campaigns that they have sold our democracy to corporate special interests. Most Americans want a government that is truly of, by, and for the people, where community interests such as health care, quality education, civil rights, and environmental protection are prioritized above corporate interests. We believe in creating a real democracy where people can shape the policies that affect their lives regardless of the size of their pocketbooks.
