Billionaire Global Speculator Soros helps fund Democratic Party, while Democratic Party-linked foundations help subsidize certain alternative media organizations.

The billionaire global speculator whose Soros Foundation/Open Society Institute helps fund certain independent media groups in Eastern Europe, George Soros, has also been a leading individual funder of the Democratic Party in recent years. According to the Center for Responsive Politics' web site, Soros Foundation/Open Society Institute Director Soros has contributed over 0,000 to various politically partisan Democratic Party campaign committees since 1993.

On October 9, 1996, for instance, Soros made three campaign contributions, totalling 0,000, to the Democratic National Committee's "DNC/Non-Federal Unincorporated Account." On October 8, 1998, the Soros Foundation/Open Society Institute Director gave an ,000 campaign contribution to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. And on October 25, 1999 Soros gave an additional ,000 campaign contribution to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting-sponsored Pacifica Foundation--to which both KPFK-Los Angeles and the Democracy Now show are institutionally-linked--accepted a ,000 grant from Global Speculator Soro's Soros Foundation/Open Society Institute in 1995. The Soros Foundation/Open Society Institute also has given 0,000 grants to various U.S. dance companies in recent years.

KPFK-Los Angeles and the Democracy Now show have been criticized in recent years by anti-corporate Movement activists for excluding anti-censorship critics of the Pacifica Foundation, Soros and the Democratic Party Establishment from the KPFK-Los Angeles airwaves and the Democracy Now show. Pacifica's KPFK-Los Angeles show host Marc Cooper of Radio Nation has also been singled-out for special condemnation by most grassroots anti-corporate Movement activists for spreading disinformation about the 1999 KPFA Listeners' Revolt and for advocating the censorship of radical left voices by KPFK-Los Angeles management.

A leading Democratic Party campaign contributor from New Jersey, Alan Sagner, is a major investor in The Nation magazine which KPFK-Los Angeles talk show host Cooper's show promotes. Nation Magazine Co-Owner Sagner also used to be the Chair of the Corporate for Public Broadcasting Board that funds over 12% of KPFK-Los Angeles' operating budget.

Besides accepting funds from Democratic Party campaign contributor Soros' Soros Foundation/Open Society Institute, the Pacifica Foundation also accepted a ,000 grant from the Ford Foundation in the late 1990s. On the board of trustees of the Ford Foundation, sits Democratic Party Boss Clinton's close friend: Ford Foundation Trustee Vernon Jordan. Jordan's Ford Foundation has also given two grants, totalling 0,000, to the liberal media watchdog group FAIR, in recent years.

The Movement belongs to the People--Not The Foundations or the Ultra-Rich.

End Censorship of Radical Left Activists at Pacifica's KPFK-Los Angeles and on Pacifica's Democracy Now show.
