On Sunday Morning, August 6, 2000, Barry Sacharow, President of the Free Assembly Resource Fund, in response to continued jailing and brutal mistreatment of the Protesters in Philadelphia, as a result of the Republican National Convention, has issued the following call to all individuals and Activist Organizations:
1. Make aware all members of your organizations, worldwide, that Political Prisoners are being mistreated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America and how their rights are being violated. (www.thepartysover.org)
2. Join in an effort to contact all local media organizations in making them aware of the prisoners and their situation. Place local emphasis on these contacts. This can include activities such as local organizations taking action in solidarity with ALL the prisoners and/or LOCAL "puppetistas," activists, and/or supporters that are missing in the Philadelphia area and presumed to be jailed. Interviews with locally related released prisoners are available through the IMC (www.phillyimc.org).
3. Prepare for involvement in discussions for a global Tourism Boycott of Philadelphia if the brutality does not cease immediately. Contact individuals with the Philadelphia Government and Tourism as well as all political parties, worldwide, to seek their assistance in the release of all political prisoners jailed during and as a result of the Republican National Convention.
