Special Interest PACS Fund Dem VP-Designate Lieberman

Over 25% of the campaign funds that Dem VP-Designate Lieberman has collected during the last two years has been obtained from various special interest PACs, according to the Center for Responsive Politics' web site. The Free Cuba PAC, for instance, gave Lieberman's a $10,000 campaign contribution, as did the PACs of Pentagon weapons production contractors such as United Technologies and General Dynamics. Dem VP-Designate Lieberman has also received a $10,000 campaign contribution from the Pfizer pharmaceutical company's PAC and a $10,000 campaign contribution from the PAC of United Parcel Service's corporate managers. In addition,DGore's Dem VP-candidate designate Lieberman has also been given $79,000 in campaign contributions from pro-Israeli-government PACS during the last two year, as well as a $3,000 campaign contribution from Texaco's PAC and a $5,000 campaign contribution from Champion International's PAC. Lieberman has also collected around $91,000 from insurance company PACS during the last two years. So look for Lieberman to repesent the special interests of some of these PACS if the Gore-Lieberman ticket is able to win the November 2000 election.
