Here is the Goddess of Democracy before the cops kidnapped her. I wasn't at the street corner when the puppets and other art were being confiscated by the police. However when I heard the commotion, I ran to them in their defense. Soon David and the rest of Arts in Action followed. I had worked with the Puppetistas and Arts in Action for about a month, so this event was a blow to my heart. I was furious! After yelling at police to give back the art and holding what little was left (a bird, bamboo sticks and my tears), I began to initiate chants. "Art is not a crime!" "Free the Puppets!" After a half hour or so and some de-escalation from our monitors... The secret service reminded LAPigD that we had an injuction on them and ordered the police to release the puppets and puzzle solutions. We celebrated by chanting,"Ain't no power like the power of the Artist cus the power of the Artist don't stop!" We were not going to let this be another Philly Protest!
