The theme of Monday's protest (8/13/2000), was "Human Need not Corporate Greed." An enormous crowd gathered at Pershing Square for a march to Staples Center. No fewer than 10,000 protestors participated in the mass demonstration, and many issues were addressed.

Many people of color participated in the CONvention protests. In this photograph, the "Young Koreans United" (YKU) are shown playing drums and gongs while dancing down L.A.'s streets in vibrant traditional Korean costumes. The many members of YKU are committed to the reunification of their homeland and to the complete withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Korea.
