The corp. media will betray us in L.A as they are currently doing w/ Philly and have grossly done w/ Seattle. How many times can we allow this? They are the reason fascists get elected. They kill us. Literally. The NY times right now is virtually ignoring the Philly protests, and making Bush look dynamic and smart. Are we wasting time? FUCK THIS SHIT. Are we in it to win it or what? Reclaiming democracy means reclaiming it from the private interests that have almost total control over information flow in our country. Target the corporate media, in addition to subverting them.

The corporate media will betray us in L.A during the DNC protests as they are currently doing with the Philly/RNC protests and have grossly done w/ Seattle and WTO. How many times can we allow this media blackout and subsequent distortion? They are the reason fascists get elected. They kill us. Literally. The NY Times right now is virtually ignoring the Philly protests, and making Bush look dynamic and smart. FUCK THIS SHIT. Are we wasting time? The lack of a seriously critical press is what led to the formation of IMC's world wide, but subverting the major players is not enough. It is a critical step away from dependency but we must do more to make the corporate media cover the issues, and to force them to be more responsive, and ask tough questions. Since it's not really in their interest to upset the status quo - we must make these media giants more accountable by taking the war to them. Whether we do this in the street, (in their offices preferably) or wherever and whenever we get the opportunity, it MUST BE DONE, after all most Americans will end up with the corporate media as their only information source. Just like disrupting the convention is a goal - so should the disruption of the corporate propaganda machine be a serious and simeltaneous goal for direct action oriented activists. They are ACTIVELY WORKING to distort our messages and they fail to cover the depth of abuse we endure and the risk we encounter when protesting. Reclaiming democracy means reclaiming it from the private interests that have almost total control over information flow in our country. Are we in it to win it or what? Target the corporate media, in addition to subverting them. In addition to any advance publicity we do to promote the issues that will be highlighted during the protests and this advance p.r is crucial, we must not let them off the hook just because we cooperate with them from time to time. It isn't individuals with whom we have cultivated relationships in the media that must be pressured, although that needs to happen too; with regards to ACCOUNTIBILITY, it is the institution as a whole that must be brought to it's knees before the American public. Bush will be the next president thanks to our undemocratic media (Goebbels) and if you think life sucks ass now, oh just wait until this country is a right wing Christian fundamentalist bastion of anti-choice, racist rabidity destined to devestate the human spirit and what's left of our fragile ecology. Sorry to be a downer - but we ned to know where to direct our rage where it will be of most impact. IMPACT.

In solidarity
