We have been listening, reading and watching what has been happening up in the USA. Our wishes and solidarity is with you.

As the actions in the United States wind up and evaluations and considations take place, Australia will be preparing for the World Economic Forum in Melbourne (s11) and the Corporate Games in Sydney.

Australia is not the destination promoted on your TV sets by our beautiful people. There are daily injustices and human rights abuses occuring. Our government is irresponsible, short-sighted and will go out of its way to embrace neo-liberal policies. Our government welcomes war criminals from Indonesia, does not speak out against the obvious corruption with Malaysia's 'government', and is happy to provide all the 'silent' support to the United States very silly plans for defending against nuclear attack. We have no Bill of Rights. We have no freedom of expression. Our media is effectively owned by two individuals - Kerry Packer and Rupert Murdoch. And our politicans are gutless human beings, who will do anything for these two media monguls.

We urge activists through-out the world to reconsider the TRUE Australia. Please keep an eye on the Melbourne and Sydney IndyMedia sites:
