I would call this Newspoetry. It would be great, Coleman, if we could have your permission to reproduce it at

http://www.newspoetry.com>

Other submissions are solicted from anyone who would like to write poetry that comments on the events of the day, in general, and LA, in particular. There's lots of inspiration in LA and the country as a whole.

Great Poem

by Michael Wiltscheck Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000 at 5:36 PM

The "My America" poem was superb! The author reflects how many individuals are feeling in today's America. The more I work to support Ralph Nader in my city and on my campus, the more I see that people are not happy with thier nation. The problem is that these voices are not being heard. Mainly due to the corporate media. The only way I see to spread these ideas and feelings is through internet sites like these and old fashion word of mouth.

I see and hear a growing movement in this country. Even in my small town in Wisconsin, people are looking at other candidates and recognizing the issues many ignore. To all the people who are trying to buck the system, KEEP GOING! Your voice is being heard little by little. We must keep our heads up and continue to fight for true justice and democracy!

Your expressing your pain, sadness, and hope for an end to greed and violence is much appreciated here in Canada. Thank you!
