Police Attack Peaceful Protestors at Dome City

PLEASE COME TO DOME CITY RIGHT NOW! Police charged a peaceful demonstration that was walking on the sidewalk with pepper spray and plastic bullets, injuring protesters. They have barricaded Dome City, and the police's further intentions are not clear. PLEASE GET PRESS TO DOME CITY RIGHT NOW! 9th and Garland

[11:50 PM EST] A delegation of members of the Kensington Welfare Rights Union was attending a peaceful demonstation in Los Angeles today as a part of the events surrounding the Democratic National Convention. As the marchers were peacefully walking on the sidewalk, the police charged and opened fire with pepper spray and plastic bullets, injuring some of the protesters, including Ted Hayes.

A press conference is being held tonight at 9:45 PST.

[12:06 AM EST] The police have now surrounded Dome City, and are not letting anyone inside. Barricades have been set up around Dome City, and the police have been clearing the streets of people. The protesters are holed up in a large tent in Dome City. So far, no press has been able to enter Dome City.
