Free Speech TV live coverage (DISH network channel 9415) of the DNC (Crashing the Party at present) is being kept off the air by the LAPD. There is a toll-free number displayed to call: 1-877-278-5273. After getting through the auto-menu to an operator, I was promptly disconnected as soon as the question of why coverage was being kept off the air was out of my mouth. I haven't seen any info. on this. What is up?
we have community members eagerly anticipating the downlink. Big surprise the LAPD shut down the uplink. in the long run, it's their mistake...
I had called up the LAPD and spoken with a live dispatcher why the DNC coverage has been off the air on FSTV. After mentioning if any police action has been taken with respect to IndyMedia Center she answered that dispatchers are not provided with such info and she is sitting "four stories underground" and doesn't know what is happening. She also took asked for the city and state I was calling from. It seemed as if the LAPD is bunkered up for any eventuality and were willing to collect any information about anyone trying to qustion the situation. Big Brother?
The phone number you show for LAPD on your webpage (1-877-278-5273) is not correct -- the correct number is 1-877-275-5273.
where's the backup? if known this would happen, why the failure to back up our system?
in the same vein why the lack of bandwidth/slow response time on this site.
Go to a judge and ask for an emergency restraining order. The cops are obviously not following procedure, and it is apparent their aim is to censor the political content of the broadcast. Go to a judge and press the issue, then sue the cops for large damages. Build a back-up system with the winnings.
This reminds me of the assault at waco. all this confiscation of video equipment...
blocking of media outlets... occupation of media headquarters... back then they even BLEW UP
a shortwave radio station's tower to prevent the people from hearing what was going on with
the davidians and big brother.
We just called the LAPD #, and the operator said that they currently have "their officers investigating the situation". And that it is "Not the LAPD which is blocking the broadcast" and that they are looking into it. ???
Where's CNN while all this is goig on? Email reply must be a hoax...NBC aired coverage of police movement on LA streets. Perhaps, CNN is getting clearance for broadcast of their footage...
