CALL TO ACTION: Get L.A. Out of Trump's Deportation Machine

This Tuesday, January 10th, the LA County Board of Supervisors will be having a very important meeting where they will hear report backs from county departments on the Immigrant Protection Task Force voted early last month (Dec. 6th), as well as a report back from the CEO's office on how to implement the newly approved Due Process For All program (voted Dec. 20th).

We Demand:

- The County to NOT SUBSIDIZE the Trump deportation machine.

- The County to take action to disentangle the LA Sheriffs from federal immigration enforcement.

- The County to implement an INCLUSIVE legal representation program for deportation defense for ALL.

You can support by participating on: CALL-IN DAY: MONDAY, JANUARY 9TH Target: Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Supervisor Hilda Solis: (213) 974-4111 Supervisor Janice Hahn: (213) 974-4444 Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas: (213) 974-2222 Supervisor Sheila Kuehl: (213) 974-3333 Supervisor Kathryn Barger: (213) 974-5555 Call-in Script: Due Process 4 All and ICE out of LA , 9am-5pm, you can leave a voicemail after 5pm

Script:

Hello, my name is _______ and I would like to ask Supervisor __________ to support a fully inclusive implementation of the Due Process for All initiative. Providing legal counsel to all immigrants, especially those in detention, is a basic safeguard that will protect the rights of our immigrant community members and prevent injustices. No one should face imprisonment and exile without a lawyer. I also urge Supervisor ______ to draw a clear line between County resources and federal law enforcement. The county should not in any way be complicit in facilitating the separation of our communities through the deportation machine. Los Angeles County needs to do everything in its power to prevent people from being caught up in this unjust system in the first place.
