WE THE PEOPLE 2.0 FILM LAUNCHES ACROSS THE COUNTRY

MORE INFO: ccfascrsvp@gmail.com

?We The People 2.0?, a new documentary film by Leila Conners of Tree Media, is screening across the country for post election. The film, narrated by Walton Goggins and featuring the community rights work of Thomas Linzey and CELDF (Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund), brings together all Americans in a discussion about the current state of our democracy and what to do to become engaged citizens.

?We The People 2.0? is a visual essay on the loss of democracy in the United States. The film utilizes both original footage as well as found footage to describe a profound needed change in thinking at the grassroots level. The story unfolds through the eyes of rural and urban people who have faced decades of toxic dumps, oil and gas drilling and mining operations in their communities. We learn along with them that the reason why, in spite of all their efforts, they ?get what they don?t want, again and again,? is because they are, by law, truly powerless in spite of the propaganda that says they live in the ?best democracy in the world.? These people come to understand that the reason they can?t stop the destruction of their communities is that the US has become an oligarchy, run by the corporate few whom ignore the rights and will of the people for their bottom-lines. These citizens are frontally challenging the corporate state; attempting to save nature, themselves and their communities. CELDF attorney, Thomas Linzey?s, inspiring words show us how, we, the people, can turn this around and lay claim to our democracy. This movement is building as you read this, not just in this country but around the world; our film shows how and where it all began. - www.wethepeople2.film
