Mariachis and other tenants who live at 1815 E. 2nd Street received unreasonable rent increases as much as 0 more per month. In June, they received eviction notices. The mariachis and tenants are fighting back. July 1st, tenants who did not receive a rent increase began a BEGAN A RENT STRIKE and will continue to strike until the owner, BJ Turner, negotiates a reasonable rent increase.
