Workers World Forum Thursday

Alert!!

The Russians are Coming to the Harriet Tubman Center!

Well, one in particular - and the kind that scares the ruling class here the most - a Communist Youth

Dina Gulyanitkskaya is a member of the Communist Youth Union from St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad)

She will be speaking about the social and economic situation in Russia.

Here in the U.S. today, the LA Times exposed the fact that many millions of dollars from multi-billionaires and the Walton Foundation guaranteed pro-charter candidates would win a majority in the recent LA Unified School Board elections. These types of austerity-driven attacks and privatizations of education by capitalist monopolists in the U.S. are also being waged in Russia. Dina is also part of the group the Movement of Students and Teachers Against the Policy of Destruction of Education and Science. The group has the support of several trade unions, universities and education associations and progressive political organizations to stop capitalist austerity measures of downsizing, privatizing and the closing of schools.

She will be addressing this and other struggles of her comrades in Russia and shed light on the U.S. misinformation hiding U.S. imperialist aims in the region.

Dina is also involved with organizing for the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi this fall, so this will also be a great opportunity to learn about participation from the U.S. in the festival.

When: This Thursday August 10 @ 7 PM
