Divest LA Emergency Strategy Meeting!

Rally the troops! After weeks of consistent public pressure, we influenced the divestment motion by Councilmembers O’Farrell, Koretz, seconded by Bonin. The motion now SITS in the Budget and Finance Committee, waiting to be scheduled by Chairman Krekorian.

LA CITY COUNCIL IS NOW STALLING- SO LET’S LET THEM KNOW THAT WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND MOVEMENT NOW.

As the City of Los Angeles’ contract with Wells Fargo ends in June 2017, we are faced with a critical deadline to ensure that LA not only commits to divesting from Wells Fargo, but ALSO guarantees social and environmental ethical criteria for future banking contracts.

Wells Fargo is fighting back. They’re trying to slow down our efforts and convince city hall to stay with them. We knew this wasn’t going to be easy since we’re legitimately taking on Wall St. We will not rest until the mission is complete. Our group has the vision, will, and ability to succeed. WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL LOS ANGELES DIVESTS.

This is the rising of the people, FOR the people. We RISE with the indigenous warriors at Standing Rock, we RISE with the water protectors now taking stand on every corner of Turtle Island. We RISE for ALL people victimized by Wells Fargo's corrupt banking practices. We stand united to say NO MORE. WE want a new era of justice and a financial system that works for the benefit of our comunities, our earth and the common good.

Join us this Wednesday for a critical meeting to organize our efforts and strategize for the coming weeks to ensure we keep the pressure up and guarantee our victory.
